What Is VOX Function

The VOX function allows the walkie-talkie to automatically start and end transmissions when it detects the user's voice. It eliminates the need to press the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button every time you want to communicate, making it more convenient in certain situations, such as when your hands are occupied.

How Does VOX Work

Sound Detection: The walkie-talkie microphone constantly listens for sound. When the sound level reaches a certain preset threshold (sensitivity level), the VOX circuit recognizes it as a voice signal and activates the transmission mode.

Transmission Activation: Once the voice is detected, the walkie-talkie switches from the receive mode to the transmit mode and starts broadcasting the voice signal to other walkie-talkie.

Transmission Termination: When the sound stops and the microphone no longer detects a voice signal above the sensitivity threshold for a certain period, the VOX function automatically turns off the transmission and switches the walkie-talkie back to the receive mode.

How To Turn On And Use VOX On TH-510 Walkie-talkie

Enabling the VOX Function

To activate VOX on TH-510 walkie-talkie, you just need to press VOX button.

Using VOX:

After enabling the VOX function, when you want to communicate, simply speak into TH-510 walkie-talkie microphone. As long as your voice volume reaches the set sensitivity level, TH-510 walkie-talkie will automatically start transmitting your voice. When you finish speaking and there is no more sound, TH-510 walkie-talkie will automatically stop transmitting after a short delay.

Difference Between Normal VOX and TH-510 AI VOX

Most walkie-talkie only have a normal VOX function. The normal VOX function can not only collect human voices, but also collect background noise. Therefore, if you turn on the normal VOX function in a very noisy environment, the two way radio will collect background noise and be in continuous transmission state.
